Yasmin and Craig Mor Tom strike gold

July 30, 2013

Creechurch Sports Academy member, Yasmin Ingham, and her chestnut gelding, Craig Mor Tom, have won two gold medals at the European Championships in Arezzo, Italy.

One year on from the Olympic Games, Greeba based Yasmin Ingham was representing Team GB at the FEI European Pony Dressage, Eventing and Jumping Championships.

Yasmin and her pony, Craig Mor Tom, are the current British Champions and they had to compete in three stages against forty entrants from across Europe to secure their European title.

They started with the dressage event and finished the stage in the bronze medal position. The next stage was the cross country which was on a specially designed course, and despite the very hot conditions they completed the course in the quickest time with a clear round. The pair went into the final stage in the bronze medal position.

They completed the final show jumping stage without any penalty points, leaving them top of the leader board with a gold medal and Championship title.

This is Britain’s second gold medal at the Championships and Yasmin’s individual score helped deliver the final result for Team GB which won the team gold medal. Her next goal is to achieve her GCSE grades which she will receive next month.

Stewart Quayle, business development manager at Creechurch Capital said: “To win one gold medal is a truly remarkable achievement, but to win two at such a young age goes to show how talented Yasmin and Tom are.  Yasmin is such a hardworking and talented individual and we are extremely proud of her achievements.”

Yasmin commented:“Winning two gold medals is an amazing feeling and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends and of course my sponsors. I also have to thank my amazing pony, Tom, who was brilliant throughout the whole competition.”

John Greenwood, CEO of Creechurch, said: “Yasmin is such a talented individual and we are immensely proud to be supporting her. Since we set up the sports academy, we never envisaged that one of the participants would not only become a British Champion but now a European Champion.”

“Yasmin and Tom have blossomed into a winning team and I am sure that in the coming years the Isle of Man will have another Olympic champion. As a business, we’re committed to nurturing young talent and look forward to supporting Yasmin throughout the rest of the year.”
