Sport Academy Alumni Update

April 11, 2017

Over the years our Sports Academy programme has helped push some of the best young sporting talent onto successes. It’s been an honour supporting them on their journeys and as we look towards their bright futures, here we take a look at some recent highlights from our alumni.
Our first Sports Academy member, Daniel Lloyd (pictured), joined the Eurotech Racing Honda squad in 2016 competing in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). This year, Daniel made his MG RCiB Insurance Racing line-up debut this April racing in the MG Motor MG6 in the BTCC. While enduring a tough start to the campaign, the season is looking promising with Daniel’s progress covered by ITV throughout the season. He will be heading to Leicestershire’s Donington Park circuit this weekend (15th -16th April 2017).
Meanwhile our second motorsport member, Nico Lavery’s season is just kicking off and after a fantastic 2016 he will be competing in the Series Rotax. A promising young talent at the start of his career; we’re excited to follow his journey.
Yasmin Ingham, the Academy’s only equestrian, has had a flying start to 2017 taking the bronze medal at Lincolnshire in March. She has also been shortlisted as the Sportswoman of the Year at the Isle of Man Sports Awards 2017.
We’re looking forward to following our alumni as they progress throughout 2017; their successes, a reminder of what time well spent can achieve.
