Creechurch Private Wealth has announced a sponsorship deal pledging its support to Manx cyclist, Jonny Bellis, as he embarks on his career comeback against the odds.
The announcement marks the launch of the Creechurch Sports Academy fund which will see the firm sponsor a selection of handpicked, promising young sports stars.
Following a life threatening motorcycle accident in Italy in 2009, Bellis has battled his way back to full health. With the support of his sponsors, he will live and race in Belgium for a UCI Continental cycling team, which is the third division of cycling’s professional ranks.
Speaking of the sponsorship, Creechurch CEO, John Greenwood said: “In our line of business, we regularly meet clients who have been very fortunate in life. Jonny was heartbreakingly unlucky when he had his accident.
“His story really struck a chord with us, and many more across the island. It also provided us with the inspiration for the Creechurch Sports Academy. This is our small commitment to invest in the future talent of the sports industry.”
